Ex-Hab's heart still beats bleu, blanc et rouge...for The Peg!
Former Hab Lucien Deblois says a part of his hockey heart is still with Winnipeg and he's encouraged to hear the NHL could be returning their sooner rather than later.
True North is heating up talks with the Atlanta Thrashers to move to Manitoba, near one of Canada's most famous intersections: the corner of Portage and Main.
Deblois heard all the jokes from coaches threatening to trade players if they didn't play their way out of the doghouse, to free agents comparing Manitoba winters to Siberia.
Truth is Deblois says Winnipeg is a great hockey city and with a strong Canadian dollar would be a welcome addition to the NHL travel sked.
CJAD caught up "Lucky Lucien" from Boston, where he's scouting the Bruins-Canucks series for the Vancouver Canucks. As a pro scout for Vancouver, Deblois is highly impressed with the way the Lightning have stuck to Guy Boucher's gameplanning.
