How do you get two of the best Russian hockey players to have ever laced up to spend a  Friday night in Montreal? Charity of course.

Alex Ovechkin and Vladislav Tretiak will be at le Windsor Friday February 3rd, along with Canadiens forward Max Pacioretty.  The stars are partnering up for a charity event with proceeds going to both Tretiak's and Pacioretty's foundations.

"Ya it's exciting," Pacioretty said. "When I got the opportunity to start my foundation, I didn't think i'd have something this special going on especially this soon into the foundation. So a charity event like this is a huge honour and i'm really looking forward to it".

The goal of Pacioretty's foundation is to support the Montreal General Hospital by purchasing a Magnetic Resonance Imaging machine designed to analyze the effects of brain injuries.

And the fact that Ovechkin is using his star power to help out Pacioretty's foundation isn't going unnoticed.

"It draws more of a crowd, not just a Montreal Canadiens fan crowd but an NHL in general crowd to the event. And when you see an all star player like that step up and contribute, it means a lot and shows how important this event is".

Oh Canada! Make up your freaking minds! I thought y'all said Ovechkin "was a selfish, whiny man-child" for snubbing the All-Star Game.
