Geoffrion stunned at Habs deal
Hal Gill has been around the NHL long enough to know sometimes when there is trade smoke there is fire. Blake Geoffrion? Not so much.
"I was shocked," Geoffrion told the Anderw Carter Morning Show on CJAD 800 Monday, of Pierre Gauthier's deal that raises the hockey destiny to 4 family generations in Habs uniform.
Geoffrion is headed to the Bell Centre this week for a Bulldogs game at the AHL level while the Canadiens are on the road, and there's no telling how soon he could be recalled if the Canadiens' GM ships out forwards such as Andrei Kostitsyn and/or Travis Moen.
"No way...I never did," Geoffrion joked when asked if he ever blocked shots at family shinny games---his grandfather being Habs legend Boom Boom Geoffrion, who popularized the slapshot.
Listen to Blake Geoffrion in a CJAD interview with Andrew&Rick, and enjoy Derek Wills' call of Blake's first goal in his first game with the Canadiens' farm team.
