Habs GM search down to 2?

Blackhawks assistant GM Marc Bergevin is not even giving his own non-denials, having the Chicago Blackhawks PR department do that for him.   But Bergevin is believed to be one of perhaps only 2 remaining candidates in the Canadiens' GM search.

Bergevin did not directly respond to recent emails from CJAD, having the Hawks' staff suggest that out of respect for the process any and all comment should come from the Montreal Canadiens organization.

CJAD and Sports Illustrated's Mike Farber, first to report on Habs' interest in candidates like Jim Nill of Detroit, says as far as he knows Bergevin and longtime NHL broadcaster Pierre McGuire (a former Habs analyst on CJAD 800) are the only men given lengthy follow-up interviews after initial phone conversations.

Farber further reveals that Hockey Hall of Famer Bobby Orr, now a powerful player agent, may have served as a character reference for McGuire.

Listen to Farber with the latest from the Monday edition of the Andrew Carter Morning Show on CJAD 800.

Chicago local reporting is saying that Bergevin is not interested. So I guess we are stuck with McGuire ,who is extremely knowledgeable but not gm material

Well i guess Habs fan will keep on drinking the Kool Aid that management feeds them
