Morgan: Give Roy a chance
Now that Bob Hartley has been introduced as the new head coach of the Calgary Flames, there's more speculation that Patrick Roy could land the head coching job in Montreal.
I hope he gets it. Few athletes hate to lose as much as Roy and he's earned his coaching stripes in the QMJHL and he certainly knows what the hockey atmosphere in Montreal is all about.
Great former players don't always become great coaches but Roy's 'Q' team has been a winner and Carey Price could no doubt learn a thing or two from the Hall of Famer.
No coach comes with a guarantee of success. But I've always been a fan of Roy's passion.
And I'm aware that some fans feel he's too much of a hot-head. But show me any coach who doesn't have a temper. Even Scotty Bowman had his moments.
