Former Habs defenseman JJ Daigneault admits his friends have been calling to congratulate on his new job with the Habs.  Thing is: he's still employed by the Rangers organization and the AHL coach has not had any dealings with Marc Bergevin or Michel Therrien.

Daigneault makes very clear he thinks he's ready to coach in the NHL.  He still has a home in TMR.  But as far as he knows, the Canadiens have not even asked for permission to talk to the former NHL veteran.

Daigneault has had a strong hand in mentoring a young Rangers defense corps including former to Habs' draft pick Ryan McDonagh.
