Bergevin gets busy in advance of free-agent frenzy
Montreal Canadiens' GM Marc Bergevin pulled out his pen over the last 48 hours, coming to contract terms with two players.
Forward Travis Moen will not test the UFA waters; agreeing to a four-year contract with the Has worth $7.4 million. And defenceman Alexei Emelin re-ups with the team: a two-year deal worth $2 million.
Moen will earn $1.85 million per season after getting $1.5 million in each of the last three seasons with the Canadiens.
Emelin earns a significant raise after making less than $1 million last season.
The free-agent floodgates open at noon today.
