No Jagr for Habs
As Canadiens GM Marc Bergevin remained in his cone of silence Monday afternoon, CJAD 800 Sports confirmed it had nothing to do with the Jaromir Jagr sweepstakes.
The Canadiens informed agent Petr Svoboda (the former Habs and Flyers defenseman) that they were not interested in the services of the Czech star who has frequently said he'd love to play in Montreal.
Jagr and Tomas Plekanec developed chemistry on the national team and the 40-year old scoring great was in fact an idol for Plek in his younger days. They were also summer workout partners during some recent offseasons in Kladno, Czech Republic.
"Bergevin called me this morning and told me they have no interest in Jagr," Svoboda commented to CJAD 800.
Svoboda has not said which teams are in the bidding.
