Laraque upset at Recchi: hundreds of ex-NHLers, juniors want to help union
Former Hab Georges Laraque says he's had an amazing response to his tweet this week that he's helping form a CHL Players Association for junior players. Not surprised, but the ex-enforcer admits he's disappointed he'll have to drop the gloves with some former Habs who not only benefitted, but worked for the NHL union.
Laraque, appearing on CJAD's The Locker Room on Saturday, says hundreds of former NHL players and junior players have emailed to offer support. But Mark Recchi and Patrick Roy have spoken out against it----conflict of interest says Big Georges since they are junior owners.
Laraque had hoped a key meeting with CHL head David Branch would have taken place Friday, but revealed that the lawyers have postponed that until next week.
Listen to Georges, who says owners should not and would not threaten a junior lockout because he claims---"that would be illegal."
