Desharnais leaves Montreal; Cole pessimistic

David Desharnais is the latest member of the Canadiens to sign with a team in Europe while the NHL lockout continues. He's signed with the Fribourg-Gottéron Dragons of the Swiss league.

Desharnais is coming off a terrific season with the Habs when he scored 16 goals and added 44 assists. And he missed just one game last season.

Desharnais' Habs teammate and linemate Erik Cole tells the journal de montreal that he thinks there will be no hockey at all this season and he also thinks the league intended it that way.  He thinks the league has been entirely unreasonable in its approach to reach a new collective bargaining agreement.

The players should realize that they are the employees. If every company was forced to share profits with the employees there would be few companies for anybody to work for.
Hockey is supposed to be a sport.
Get back to playing or there will be few fans left.
