As 2 Montreal neurologists call for widening a ban on hitting in minor hockey, a new national study suggests the incidence of serious head injuries is still badly under-reported.

Dr. Paul Echlin of the Hockey Concussion Education Project says both mens' and womens' hockey leagues he studied both found higher incidents of concussions than previous medical literature.

Dr. Echlin also says the call from Dr. Patrick Cossette and Louis de Beaumont of the U. de Montreal to ban hitting from minor hockey (with the exceptions of Bantam AA and Midget AAA) deserve a serious look.

Dr. Echlin discusses pressure on the pros in hockey and football, myths about concussions, and what if means for Hockey Moms and Dads like you and your kids.
