Schneider's side of the story
NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly says he has no reason, nor any intention, of reaching out to the NHL Players Association right now, after talks broke down in spectacular fashion on Thursday night.
This is day 84 of the lockout with no talks scheduled and bitter feelings on both sides. The league says they're still far apart while the union will have you believe the gap is narrowing.
I spoke with former Canadiens defenseman Mathieu Schneider, who is also a special assisant to NHLPA boss Donald Fehr. Schneider says yes, they are close.
