Bettman plays Grinch, NHL Christmas cancelled
Despite rumours and assumptions that talks to end the Lockout will resume soon, the NHL has scrapped regular season games through December 30.
At the height of optimism last week, even TV networks wondered about Bettman's gift to fans---rumours of the season starting on Christmas Day itself in an NBA-style festive spirit.
Some sources around the NHL are saying New Years' Eve is still possible, but a deal would have to be concluded by next Monday at the latest for that to happen.
Veteran USA Today hockey writer Kevin Allen, author of the new book "Without Fear: The Greatest Goalies of Alltime", told the CJAD 800 Andrew Carter Morning Show he's still expecting a season of 52-games to be salvaged.
