Gorges, Subban: PA deal done, PK deal pending?

For Josh Gorges the emotional roller coaster is over.  For PK Subban it is revving up all over again.

Subban is un-signed, a restricted free agent hoping for a longterm deal to stay in Montreal.  GM Marc Bergevin wants to hedge his bet on the flamboyant young defenseman before shelling out on anything like the 6-year deals won by the likes of Gorges, Price and Pacioretty in recent months.

CJAD Sports confirmed that Subban will be in Don Meehan's office Monday for what is hoped to be the jumpstart in talks with the Canadiens' "rookie" GM.

Montreal Canadiens' defenceman Josh Gorges looked ahead to the start of the NHL season with CJAD's Rick Moffat and Abe Hefter while the ink was drying on the tentative agreement reached between the league and the Players Association Sunday morning.

Gorges, who has worn his heart on his sleeve during this 113-game lockout, discusses the frustration associated with the work stoppage, and looks ahead to the start of a shortened season.
