After the NHL and the NHLPA signed a memorandum of understanding late Saturday night, effectively ending the NHL lockout, The Montreal Canadiens and the NHL today released the schedule for the 2012-13 season.

The Habs will open the season at the Bell Centre, facing the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday, January 19.

The Canadiens’ regular season will end on Saturday, April 27 against the Maple Leafs, in Toronto, wrapping up a 48-game schedule over 99 days.

The Canadiens will play two matinee games at home during the traditional Super Bowl Weekend on Saturday, February 2 versus the Buffalo Sabres (2 p.m.) and Sunday, February 3 against the Ottawa Senators (2 p.m.).

The Canadiens will face two of their division rivals (Toronto and Buffalo) five times (10 games), and the other two division opponents (Ottawa and Boston) four times (8 games). Three games will be played against each of the other 10 teams from the Eastern Conference (30 games).

The Canadiens officially open training camp Sunday with an on-ice session at 10 a.m.  Twenty-seven players have been invited to take part in training camp, which will end Friday in advance of the season-opener on January 19. All practices during training camp are open to the public at the Bell Sports Complex in Brossard.
