Galchenyuk scores big points
Day two of Habs training camp in Brossard.
Alex Galchenyuk, the Canadiens first pick in June's draft once again raised eyebrows while showing off his skills. The 18 year old fit in well playing on a line with Lars Eller and Brian Gionta, but really left his mark during shoot out drills beating goalie Peter Budaj.
"I don't know how I look from the outside, but I think i'm doing a pretty good job. Obviously i'm really young and trying to adjust to some of the things but I think i'm doing a pretty good job."
But what really matters is what coach Michel Therrien thinks. And although Therrien says one good shootout doesn't guarantee anything, he was impressed.
"Honestly, you're not going to keep a guy because he's good on the shootout, it's more about all around his game. But the one thing he showed today that he's got tremenous skill, and we've got a special player and we liked what we saw again today."
