Subban to agent: I want a quick resolution
The Montreal Canadiens look to build on Tuesdays home win with one on the road as they take on the Capitals in Washington tonight. Forward Lars Eller will once again be up in the press box for what coach Michel Therrien considers to be a lack of intensity.
As for the PK Subban negotiations, Subban told agent Don Meehan this afternoon that he wants a quick resolution.
Up until now, neither side seemed willing to budge, PK wanting a longer term more money contract, and the Habs wanting a shorter term contract similar to recent ones given to Max Pacioretty and Carey Price
Former Canadien Patrice Brisebois popped by our studios this afternoon and says one way or another, GM Marc Bergevin will find a solution that is in the best interest of the team.
“It’s hard for me to talk about PK because it’s not really my business, it’s my boss. So I respect PK’s decision. Sometimes I think when you’re worth that kind of money, that’s you and the organization philosophy. Mark and Mr. Molson are going to do what’s best for the organization”
Brisebois is working in player development for the Hamilton Bulldogs this season. And as for whether Alex Galchenyuk might miss a step in the learning process by going straight from Junior hockey to the NHL, he says in this case, it could work.
“I know Alex is only 18 years old, but he’s got so much talent. So talented, very good vision, good hands good shot, and you know what, for his age in his own zone he’s very good too.”
