Eller in, Pacioretty battling flu
After sitting out games number two of the season and three as a healthy scratch, Lars Eller finds himself back in the lineup when the Canadiens play host to the Jersey Devils tomorrow ngiht in a 6 p.m. start.
However, Max Pacioretty could find himself on the outside looking in tomorrow, as a result of the flu. Pacioretty has been battling a fever and was excused from this morning's practice at the Bell Sports Complex.
Head coach Michel Therrien confirmed Eller's return following today's skate in Brossard.
"I decided yesterday that Lars is going to get back in the lineup," said Therrien. "It has to be a healthy competition. I believe in team spirit. We want him to be better. It's our job to make sure he's going to get better."
"I think Lars has a great atttitute. he knows what we're expecting. Tomorrow he'll get an opportunity to play, and to show, not only the coaching staff, but his teammates, that we can count on him this year.
Off the ice, multiple reports suggest that the Canadiens are not budging off an offer of $5.1 over two years for defenceman PK Subban, who remains "persona non grata" as the Habs prepare for the Devils tomorrow night.
