White settles into dog house
The Montreal Canadiens were back on the practice ice today in Brossard. And to the surprise of some Habs forward Ryan White was skating alongside his teammates.
Some media types thought the 23-year-old might get demoted back to the farm team after coach Michel Therrien called him out following last night's loss to Buffalo for taking an irresponsible double minor penalty.
The penalty changed the momentum of the game and Buffalo went on to win in a shootout. Today White admitted that he’d been talked to by coach Therrien, he will not be on the ice tomorrow when the Leafs come to town and that he has to learn from his mistakes.
“I’ve just got to go out there and play my game and it’s a fine line to walk. I’ve been here for 60 some games now and we’re having this conversation after two nights so my body of work should show that i’m a disciplined player most of the time. I crossed the line a few times and I hurt my team and that’s the way it goes.”
Colby Armstrong, who had a bit of a gaff himself in the dying seconds of the game where he seemed to sit back and watch as Buffalo's Tomas Vanek tied it up says they've all been in the dog house at one point
“I’ve been there a few times myself. Everyone in here cares about Whitey and loves the guy. He’s a great guy, comes in with a smile on his face good energy every day. That’s the kind of player he is he just plays on the edge and plays hard. He wears his heart on his sleeve out there”.
Travis Moen who was on the bench last night was practicing and should be back in the lineup tomorrow night.
