Ban on burka, niqab at citizenship swearing-in ceremony

The federal government is reportedly going to ban women from wearing a burka or a niqab when being sworn-in at Canadian citizenship ceremonies.
Immigration Minister Jason Kenney has apparently been getting complaints from citizenship judges who say they cannot verify the identity of the person being granted Canadian citizenship.
Kenny will be in Montreal later today to give more details concerning the decision.

I think we , as a nation, are too tolerant. If immigrants do not want to integrate-do not come- stay where you are.

too tolerant? Canada is known as the mosaic, a country MADE UP of different cultures, immigrants, different traditions and religions. As a country, we are proud of this, and we depend on this diversity. So why does the Canadian government feel like they need to make this ultimatum? That individuals have to decide whether to wear a niqab/burka over becoming a Canadian citizen? There have been accommodations made in the past, why can't women just prove their identification to a women official? Just because one politician decided on a whim that women shouldn't be allowed to wear a burka during the oath, why does that have to become a policy? Where are the so called freedoms and rights we are granted by the Canadian charter?
