Sentencing of dog killer in Granby
A sentencing is expected to take place in Granby Wednesday.
Normand Girard, 52-years-old, pleaded guilty to taking a nail gun and killing several dogs in the townships last year.
The act sparked an uproar from animal lovers everywhere.
He told the courts he did not want them to suffer and expected them to die right away.
The accused said he acted out of desperation...his youngest daughter left the dogs with him before moving into an apartment.
Alana Devine, Director of Animal Advocacy at the Montreal SPCA, says times are changing and sentences need to be tougher. She is hoping for the maximum sentence of $10,000 and 18 months in prison.
