What's open and what's closed on Good Friday

Large grocery stores and most other stores and shopping malls aren't allowed to open on Easter Sunday, but the rules are considerably looser on Good Friday, when most stores can open.

Public markets will be open, as they will be on Easter Sunday.

SAQ outlets are open, as are many restaurants and most movie theatres.

The Biodome is open all Easter weekend, including Good Friday and Easter Sunday. The Botanical Garden and the Insectarium are also open every day of the long weekend.

Just about everything else, though, is closed, including government offices at all levels, the post office (with the exception of some privately-operated postal counters), and all banking institutions.

Public transit in your neighborhood is likely to be on a weekend schedule today. Visit the STM website, or the AMT website, for more information.

Garbage and recycling pickup will happen as normal on Good Friday.

And parking meters will have to be fed, as usual.
