Tactical squad clears way for return to school at Lionel Groulx

Police used tear gas to disperse about 100 students blocking access to College Lionel-Groulx in Ste. Therese.  Five people were arrested in the stand off that lasted about half an hour.

And then, just after 11 o'clock, fifty-three students with injunctions quietly entered the school after a bus dropped them off at the front doors.  Following them, the support staff.  The teachers staying behind.

Michel Milot is the math teacher at the school.  He says they're just too disturbed to teach.

"There's a lot of emotion around, and I can assure you that nobody is able or is in any state to go and teach."

Parents also joined their kids in the picket line, forming their own chain in front of police.

Injunctions obtained by three hundred other students take effect this Friday.

College Lionel Groulx officials decided to give everyone a time out and will close the CEGEP Wednesday and Thursday.

Why does the City of Monrtreal need to pass its own bylaws regarding the wearing of masks during protest marches .The laws should originate with the Provincial/federal Governments and apply univerally across Quebec and the rest of Canada.
Isn't there a new Federal law being proposed in Ottawa in this regard .Do we really need 3 levels or tiers of the same laws and varying level of penalties and fines for the same infractions

An injunction is an injuction. No one ,not even students are above the law .Disobey the law you should be arrested fined or jailed .
It's about time the Provincial and Municipal police start vigorously enforcing the laws.
The way it is now is that we are setting a very bad example for future generations.
