Concordia sets up fund, award after Jun Lin murder

Concordia University is setting up an award to benefit Chinese students studying at the university.

The Jun Lin award is named for the Concordia student who was brutally murdered and dismembered.

Concordia is also establishing the Jun Lin Family Fund to provide financial assistance for the immediate needs of the Lin family.

In a communique, the university's president and chairman of the board of governors say "The Concordia community is deeply saddened by the recent death of student Jun Lin. We are heartened by the collective response of caring and concern for his family and friends during this difficult time."

They say after a meeting with the Lin family, Concordia is establishing the Jun Lin Family Fund to provide financial assistance for the immediate needs of the Lin family.

The university is also creating the Jun Lin Award to benefit Chinese students studying at Concordia.

    I have just made a donation, I hope we all as Canadian will do the same to help out his poor family. Even a $20 donation makes a difference, its enough to pay for a meal for his mother, father and sister. No one desires what happened... I really hope his killer get locked up for rest of his life.

    Thanks to CJAD for being help source for shattered family. I am very sad for mr. jun,my heart goes out for family. And I am agree with Mr. Charles Huang. all together we can fill the bucket with one tiny drop.
