Former Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak is said to be on life support.

Mubarak, who is 84, was rushed from prison to a military hospital in Cairo after his heart stopped.

Two-and-a-half weeks ago, Mubarak was sentenced to life in prison.

It was for failing to prevent the deaths of hundreds of protesters in an uprising that led to his ousting as Egypt's president 16 months ago.
