Fête Nationale: lots of parties happening all over town

Here we are at the leading edge of summer, and the party has begun. First up: Quebec's Fete Nationale.

The big party will be in the evening, at Parc Maisonneuve, with a concert headlining quebec folk icon Jean-Pierre Ferland and featuring the likes of Arianne Moffat and Adam Cohen. The main concert starts at nine-thirty this evening.

Again this year, there's a lot of emphasis on neighbourhood parties for Fete Nationale: all family-oriented, all through the afternoon and, in many cases, well into the evening. There'll be circus acts, live concerts, DJ's and dances, inflatable games, family lunches and dinners all across the island, at Beaconsfield's Centennial Park, Dorval's Millenium Park, Alexandre Bourgeau Park in PointeClaire, De Lorme Park in St-Leonard and Laval's Cartier House, to name just those few.

You can find a Fete Nationale Party near you by going here.
