New parking meter payment app available for your smartphone

You'll now be able to feed a parking meter in Montreal via your smartphone.

Stationnement Montréal, the company that manages Montreal's parking meters, has rolled out a new app that allows iPhone, Android and Blackberry users to pay for their parking spaces with their cellphones.

Users would enter their credit card information once, and then all they'd have to do would be to enter their parking space code to pay for it.

The app will even warn users when they're down to their last 15 minutes, so they can top up.

Convenience, though, comes with a price: each transaction you make will cost you 40 cents.

For more information, visit the Stationnement Montréal website here.

Check out the small print, there is a 40 cent "transaction fee" for each time you use it... a real ripoff!

The last time that I fed a meter was 5 yrs ago when we purchased my wife's car from President Toyota on Ste Catherine. I would walk a mile before feeding one of Montreal's meters that does not allow one to add on to time left in the meter.
