Wind, heavy rain, hail, thunder and lightning.

At the height of the rush hour, traffic came to a standstill as motorists experienced near zero-visibility on the roads.

"We had one inch hail," one man told the Aaron Rand show. "It sure was scary, and it was making an awful amount of noise on the house."

"Really bad rain, hail, super super windy and the streets are littered in leaves and little branches," one other woman said.

The storm was short lived however, it was moving quickly from north to south.

There were no reports of serious damage or flooding.

Hydro Quebec said during during the sinner hour that nine-thousand homes were without power on the West Island, two-thousand in the east end.

Nearly three-thousand customers were without power in Laval, over six-thousand in the Montéregie.

The utility added it wasn't clear when the power would return.
