Boil water advisory for parts of the South Shore

The City of Longueuil has extended its boil water advisory.

This because of a water main break on Riverside in Saint Lambert, in front of the filtration plant early Wednesday.

Longueuil spokesperson Catherine Berube says there's no danger to the public, it's a preventive measure.

"For the sectors of Lemoyne, Greenfield Park, Brossard and St. Lambert citizens should boil their water for at least one minute until further notice."

Berube adds tap water in those locations is good enough for washing dishes, laundry and taking baths.

Secondary test results should be completed by Friday.

Citizens are also asked to refrain from watering their lawns.
