Yet another reminder of how important it is to watch over your kids around water.

Marylou Rondeau, a two-year-old girl, drowned Thursday afternoon in the community of St. Remi, south of Montreal.

Provincial police say the pool in question was fenced in, but that the child had been left unattended for a few moments.

She was rushed to Anna-Laberge hospital in Chateauguay after going into cardiac arrest. The little girl was pronounced dead at around 1:30 p.m.

A total of 43 people have drowned in Quebec pools and waterways this year.

I see that kinda of behavior everyday....it's just tempting faith when I see that child come out unattended and he is right near a in ground pool not fenced....mind you the whole ground is fenced but not the pool area.....this child comes out to play on the trampoline but could easily fall into the pool that is right on the side of it.....so dangerous!

I think even though you are super cautious an event could happen! My daughter was a year old when it happened to me....I went out to put stuff in the pool we had a 2 level deck the first blocked from the 2 nd to prevent her from coming on it.....I still to this day do not know how she got on the second deck but when I was coming I called her , thinking she was in house, I continued in looking for her only to see nothing....but something in the pool caught my eye..... She was under the water at the bottom....I jumped in clothes, shoes and all....I pulled her up! THANK GOD! She was OK! She was crying so I knew she was good.....the time was about 2 minutes.....so you can see How fast and pool accident can happen!! NEVER take your eyes of your child! NEVER!

It takes only one second for something to happen! Mind you my daughter is 10 years old now and she is NOT allowed to be alone in the pool!
