Three people from Laval and Montreal have been arrested in connection with a fraud operation totalling nearly two-million dollars.

Authorities say they recruited people in financial difficulty; unemployed individuals or new arrivals to Canada, and used them to obtain credit cards as well as mortgages thru fake paperwork.

The trio faces about a dozen fraud charges.
