A home invasion in Cote St Luc Tuesday evening.

Police say it happened on Chemin de la Cote St Luc between Hingston and Hampton.

Police spokesman Jean-Piere Brabant says a man made his way into an apartment.

"He opened the door and after went in and assaulted the victim, a lady of 33-years old that was inside the buuilding. She was tied up by the man inside the apartment. While she was tied-up on the floor, the man searched for somethings that we don't  know so far. He left with some money. Before he left, he opened the gas tank from the stove inside the apartment. And after, he left", says Brabant.

The tank was eventually turned off.

There was no damage and no one else was hurt.

The woman was treated for shock.

Police are investigating.

Authorities say the suspect is a white man, roughly 35-40 years old.
