Charest to Anglos: Stay home, expect referendum

Posted By: Dan Delmar · 8/2/2012 4:49:00 PM

Jean Charest has an ominous warning for Anglos.

If you don't vote, he said, don't be surprised if the Parti Québécois wins the Sept. 4 election and a referendum on sovereignty is called.

He told The Gazette this afternoon that there are two paths to another referendum: "You either go out there and vote for Madame Marois or for Québec solidaire or for Option nationale," he said, "or you stay home and you don’t vote."

Seriously Charest, what's the difference if Anglos stay home or not?

If Charest is re-elected, do Anglos suddenly have better rights and services.

Seems to me we've lost ground under his 9 years.

Mr. Charest abuses the population and expects to be back in power. He should have made better decisions.

A referendum might be the thing to shake up the Government, because they do not represent the Quebec people.

I would rather have a referendum then Mr. Charest.

What a moron. I say let the PQ win and bring on the referendum. It's time for Quebecers to finally understand that that We are part of Canada and it's time to everyone to learn to compromise on both sides and that English will be the dominate language everywhere. I refused to waste my time on provincial elections therefore I will not go vote but I will go for the referendum and leave my 2 cents.

Unfortunately Anglo Quebecers have not had much choice for whom they voted for. The last Party stood for their rights was Alliance Quebec.
The Parti Quebecois caters to those that consider Anglos as outsiders and an infection that must be eradicated. I have lived with French Quebecers all my 60+ years. I speak the language, I am married to a French Canadian, I have previously dated many French Canadians, but I still not considered a Quebecois. Above all I'm a Canadian who believes that Canada must include Quebec. Unlike my Quebecois friends, I do consider them as Canadians.
Unfortunately there are still about 23 % Quebecois that still believe in true separatism.
Then there is the 28% to 30 % than change their minds if some lunatic out west stomps on a Fleur-de lys. These people also will vote PQ if the PQ says that they will postpone the Never-end-um-referendum. The PQ knows that these people would never vote yes to outright separation so they constantly have presented a vague referendum question. They have always lacked the balls to put their cards on the table. It's always been like a wife telling her husband, I will sleep with whom ever I please but you still pay the bills and shelter me.Never has it been, I'm leaving you, goodbye.
There is the CAC but they will, I feel will just divide the anti PQ vote. The Parti Solidarie is a joke but hopefully they can entice some of the lunatic fringe from the PQ. These are the ones that would suggest that speaking English in public would be a crime punishable byhaving one's tongue cut out. and that anyone with $1000 in the bank should be beheaded.
So basically we have no choice but to vote for the corrupt Liberals or ride out 4 long years of PQ BS.

The Liberals are always siding with the French side and the Regions vs Montreal.
We need a Provincial fully bilingual Party representing Montreal alone in Quebec City.
Years of Liberal governments have not reversed bill 101, which has been the most productive and beneficial bill in the history of Ontario.

Stop having two laws Quebec charter "english" / Loi 101 "french" for language. There's a reason it's unlawful to create laws based on language(french or english). It creates hate and contempt between people.

End some of the hate make the Quebec Charter protect everyone equaly as a person not differently as a language.

Wow...trying to scare the Anglos into voting for him....Brilliant political strategy.

I seem to remember another Liberal leader years ago who screwed Anglophones with Bill 22.

    I'm shaking in my boots.......LOL.

Mr. Charest - you will need alot more than that to win another term..........

Maybe we do need a referendum to wake you up.
