CLASSE back on the streets

Posted By: Canadian Press · 8/8/2012 4:48:00 PM

Riot police were called out to break up a tuition hike protest by one of Quebec's most militant student federations, who were also protesting electricity rates.

Some of the CLASSE protesters blocked the entrance to the Hydro-Quebec building on Réne Lévesque and threw objects at the officers.

The protest comes at a politically unpredictable point -- the election campaign is on and students are voting this week on whether to extend their strikes.

The message today that the student fight for tuition fees is far from over.

Way past time for any and all governmental officials froma. Any and all levels to step in and arrest every last one of these protesters and put an end to this total disrespect to all peoples of Quebec and Canada!
