Marois says 'non' to CJAD's bilingual debate

Posted By: Dan Delmar · 8/10/2012 11:22:00 AM

PQ leader Pauline Marois has once again rejected CJAD's invitation to a leaders' debate.

CJAD News had proposed an English debate between the three major candidates; CAQ leader Francois Legault and Liberal leader Jean Charest accepted, providing that Marois would also attend.

Marois then backed out, saying her English wasn't strong enough.

Speaking in Quebec City today, she also rejected CJAD's invitation to a bilingual deabte, where candidates would be able to answer questions in the language of their choice. She said that there already enough debates as it is.

So disrespectful and classless. I emplore anyone who ever spoke a work of English in their life. Please do not vote for this unintelligent, hypocrite. She is what's wrong with the world.

Imagine a candidate in a Federal election declining a French debate for the same reason. That wouldn't go over at all. This just proves she doesn't care for the anglo community or votes. The PQ is all just too negative and doesn't seem to have any concerns about the economy, employment, etc..

There you go folks...this ignorant creatin has also declined a debate in her own language... she absolutely refuses to have anything to do with English..so you can well imagine what kind of premier she will make..she will not leave the Province to deal with other premiers in other provinces ...she won`t be going to the U.S. to talk to governors etc. because , as she keeps reminding us , her English is not good enough ! So what is the alternative...send flunkies instead.

This is highly offensive to the anglo community. I cannot believe that a person like her can run in politics? She is so ignorant..This will be a very unfair election, since the anglos have no other choice but the liberals to vote for.

@Robyn I think it's great she is running as she is a constant reminder of what life under the PQ will be like. Long may she continue to be as offensive as she likes.

Why is cjad even bothering with this.We know where she stands with the anglo's,we should all cast our votes against her party and bring her down.
PQ leader Pauline Marois was and is a rasist against anyone who is other than french.Send a message people to her and her party we do not want her as premier.
American's come over here and always are asking for directions because they are only in french, come on will it hurt to have bilingual signs up?God forbid if you speak english in this city.

CJAD, why don't you invite some of the other candidates? Pauline doesn't want to debate, that's fine, why not invite someone like Jean-Martin Aussant of ON? IHe's appealed to Anglophones on many occasions, yet he's hardly talked about.

    Is anyone truly surprised?
    She ignores the English,
She mocks and laughs at us when invited to an English or even bilingual debate.

This person has nothing but contempt for the English population of Québec. This is tantamount to her spiting on the entire anglophone population of Québec.

I find it disgusting that a person like this is allowed to run for public office. I find it equally distressing that she could end up running this province.
Sad times ahead for Québec if she does. Let's make sure it never happens.
