Bell takes on detractors
Bell is silencing it's critics, who are arguing against the proposed Astral Media sale.
In a statement, Bell said TV, radio and digital content production in Quebec will be supported with a new investment by Bell of $80 million dollars, which will be dedicated to new French-language programming.
Bell Vice Chair, Martine Turcotte says it's not only about investments in the network, but also in the Quebec economy.
"We buy goods and services from Quebec companies at the rate of about $2 billion dollars a year, so that's a huge investment in the Quebec economy."
Turcotte adds there's no truth to rumours that Bell will relocate Astral Media out of the province.
All Quebec content, development and programming will be entirely led by the Astral team in Montreal.
