CAQ poised for big campaign moment
Francois Legault has taken a break from the campaign trail to devote all his attention and energy on preparing for this evening's one-on-one encounter with Jean Charest.
It will be a key moment for the CAQ in this campaign: the opportunity for Francois Legault to cross swords with the Premier, whose Quebec Liberal Party, along with the P.Q., represents fertile ground in which to grow support for the fledgling "third party".
Senior CAQ party notable Gerard Deltell says Charest, especially, is worried about losing significant voter-support to the CAQists, notably among anglophones.
Deltell says he hopes this evening's one-on-one debate between Legault and Charest will be calmer than what he called "the cat fight" between Charest and Pauline Marois.
