Lineups for one advance poll in Cote St. Luc was over one hour long at points yesterday, according to a Director General of Elections official.

John Keane, who runs the advance polling station at a Cote St. Luc arena, said it's the busiest advance polling period he's seen in over a decade.

Today, a steady stream of voters made their way in and out of the arena in under ten minutes.

DGE spokesperson Denis Dion told CJAD News that there have indeed been a marked increase in the number of voter registrations and inquiries on their telephone line.

Those on the electoral list can vote in advance until 8 p.m. tonight.

I actually went to vote yesterday in Cote St. Luc ,and waited over an hour, with six people in line ahead of me. The "gentleman" that would check your name off the list would not accept my Canadian passport as proof of ID. He said I need to show my Quebec medicare card. He made rules up as he was going along.
