Liberals to choose interim leader

The Liberals will wait until next Wednessday to choose an interim leader at the National Assembly.

Several former ministers have been tagged as possible contenders. But, Raymond Bachand, Pierre Moreau, Pierre Paradis, Sam Hamad, and Lise Thériault have all refused to talk about whether they would run.

"We have an extraordinary leader who yesterday told us he was going to leave, so I have not had a reflection," says Bachand.

But former Justice minister Jean-Marc Fournier says he will not apply for the job, which makes him a likely candidate for interim leader.

The Liberals will choose one following a caucus meeting next Wednessday, one MNA told CJAD.
