There is a new headache for Montreal motorists to deal with.

Engineers have determined that the Highway 13 overpass at the 40 has badly deteriorated and will have to be rebuilt.
Their report says the cracks and rusting which turned up in recent inspections are beyond repair although the structure is safe.

The overpass was buildt in 1963.

200-thousand cars and trucks go over or under the overpass every day.

The work will begin in 2014 and will last four years.

what will be the alternatives for the commuters? This is insane, we understand safety is important, but at the same time what will happen in that four years of period? Are we getting a new overpass before they demolish the old one? or to break half of the overpass, built it and go to the other half. So traffic gets divided. This is a serious situation for the people using that overpass. and it is not for a period of four days, or weeks or months. It is for FOUR years.
