Protest movement over: FEUQ president

For Quebec's university student's federation, the student conflict is over.

The president of the FEUQ, Martine Desjardins, says that with incoming premier Pauline Marois' pledge to cancel the Charest government's tuition hike, there's no reason to carry on with a protest movement.

She does say, however, that her group will continue to fight for student interests in advance of a summit on higher education which had been promised by the PQ.

Earlier this week, members of the CLASSE student group had said they'll continue their fight for free university education.

It seems the students are slow to learn that pledges by politicians are as plentiful as snow in winter here. Who do they think is going to pay for the difference in the fees, do they think money grows on trees here.
If madame Marois gives in to the demands of these urban terrorists then she can expect more radical demands the next time they spit out their dummies and stamp their feet. I for one am glad she has to deal with it, assuming she her minority lasts long enough to reverse the raises or hold the summit for higher education (what an oxymoron that is).
This province's students are an embarrassment to Canadians.

All of these people who have contributed nothing to society should accept the fact that without an education or a tax paying job, they have no right to an opinion on anything we will listen to!
