Funeral today for victim of Metropolis shooting
The civic funeral for the man shot to death at the Metropolis last Tuesday will be held this afternoon.
And although it is a civic funeral most members of the public will not be able to gain access to the church.
Priority will be given to about 150-family members and friends and another 100 places will be allocated for dignitaries including Premier-elect Pauline Marois.
The service will begin at 2pm at Saint Donat Church on de Marseille in the Hochelaga-Maisoneuve district.
Denis Blanchette was a lighting technician who was shot and killed when a gunman tried to force his way into the Metropolis during Pauline Marois' election victory speech Tuesday night.
