Newfoundland braces for Leslie

Tropical storm Leslie has gained strength as it churns towards Newfoundland.

Forecasters say its maximum sustained winds are now up to 110-kilometres an hour and they expect it to make landfall in
eastern Newfoundland tomorrow morning.

The storm will also have an impact on P-E-I and on Nova Scotia, which has already been drenched by another weather system.

A number of people have been forced from their homes by flooding in the Truro area.
