New interim leader for the Liberals
Former Justice minister Jean-Marc Fournier is the new, temporary, leader for the Liberal party.
The party's fifty MNAs unanimously chose him as interim official opposition leader.
"We have an exceptional team," says Fournier. "Look at the faces there, you already know a good number of them," he says, adding that the Liberals will be able to manage a leadership race, and maintain a strong presence in the assembly.
Economy
Fournier says the party will continue to make the economy the priority.
"We'll be there to collaborate with the government when it's a measure about job creation and the economy, but we'll be there also to oppose them," he says.
New leader
Fournier says the party's executive will draft rules for a leadership race soon. Those will be made official in a party conference in October.
