Manufacturing job losses alarming: Harel
The opposition leader at City Hall says the number of construction cranes in the city shouldn't overshadow the fact that manufacturing jobs are leaving Montreal at an alarming clip.
Louise Harel says the city has lost more than 61,000 manufacturing jobs in the past decade, a decline of 40 percent.
She says the Tremblay administration should do more to revitalize industrial parks, decontaminate the land around the vacant ones, and build better access roads to them.
