A house fire has claimed three lives in Amos in the Abitibi region, and it may have been an act of arson.

Firefighters were called to the home on  at about three o'clocik yesterday afternoon by a labourer working at a nearby house.

Three bodies were removed from the rubble.
The victims have not been identified.

Authorities say it seems as if someone was inside the house when the flames broke out and two people ran inside to try to rescue them.

The Surete du Quebec is investigating.
