The Sureté du Québec is re-launching an investigation into the death of Linda Bonette last June.

The 50-year old waitress was discovered in the trunk of a burned-out car not far from the Vegas Tour bar in Blainville where she worked.

Police say they have a new lead in the case and are looking for the driver of a car that was spotted near the bar around the time of the crime.

"We're looking for a Chevy Cavalier, maybe 2000 or 2001, in a beige-grayish colour," says Benoit Richard, spokesperson for the SQ.

Richard says the driver is not considered a suspect at this point, but an important witness.

A command post has been set up near the bar, the last place the victim was seen the night of June 24th.
