South shore boil-water advisory lifted...for most
The boil-water advisory on the South Shore has been lifted for most of the 190,000 residents for which it had been in effect.
It has been lifted for the boroughs of Old Longueuil and St. Hubert, as well as the neighboring towns of Boucherville and St. Bruno de Montarville.
It remains in effect, however, in Carignan-sur-le-Golf. Town officials there say they need to run further tests. In the meantime, residents are being advised to continue boiling their water for at least 2 minutes before consuming it.
the advisory was imposed on Wednesday following a major water main break that morning on Roland-Therrien Blvd. It took crews six hours to cap the gash in the 30-inch pipe, and led to several flooded basements in the area.
