A major power outage around 3:20 Monday afternoon was linked to a gas leak in the West End. 

A contractor accidently pierced a pipe near Terrebonne and Wilson.  As a precaution, Hydro Quebec cut power to 10-thousand clients in Cote St. Luc, NDG and Snowdon.

Power was restored to most homes and businesses by 5:45 p.m.
