There was a brazen robbery in broad daylight this afternoon in the Petite Patrie neighborhood.

Police say a gang of thieves smashed a car window, grabbing a briefcase filled with jewels from inside the car.

All this happened right under the nose of the motorist who was behind the wheel of the car parked on Beaubien.

It's believed the victim was either heading to or just returning from a small jewellery store in the area.

The three suspects, all white men, escaped in a Ford SUV.
